It's May and today is the first day of the various Farmer's Markets in town. I am always impatient for market season which ushers in long days, outdoor evenings, and fresh food. This year we get to participate as vendors.
Our first day won't be until the 16th, the first day of our CSA. Our CSA members will pick up their farm shares there. We probably won't have extra vegetables for sale, but we will have mohair fiber and yarn, and our Blue Zen products.
Today, there are veggies, flowers, baked goods, friends, music, and crafts all nestled together under the Higgins bridge. The Clark Fork River market is my favorite for its variety of different kinds of western Montana grown and produced goods.
But that's not the only thing going on this weekend. People are out en mass to celebrate the sun today. Doing everything from running the Color Me Rad 5k run, the Inflatable 5k, the animatronic dinosaur exhibit at UM, the car show at the mall, and a vintage market at Fort Missoula. If you aren't careful, your weekends can disappear in a flurry of events from now until fall. Missoula knows how to keep a person busy.
